Hi all, At first I wanted to illustrate the process of growing and evolving. I was planning to draw a monster or a dragon; however, this being Xpen's 18th birthday really hit home for me. This is how the concept started. I looked at old photos and remembered all the times I wanted to become a professional illustrator. Here in my home country of Ecuador is really hard do make a living out of art. When I registered to submit my piece, I couldn't even find the tag for my country. Anyway, this represents my younger and current self, and in a sense this is growth. As you can see there are a lot of blank papers which are meant to represent the countless hours I have put into practicing and drawing. Of course I plan to put many more and grow and evolve more. I decided to leave the paper and the background (which is inspired in panels from old comics/manga) blank because I wanted to represent the room that there is to grow and evolve. Both as a person and as an artist. There is always room to improve, there is always a new panel to draw, there is always more sketches to do. And that is a good thing. This to me is a reflection of how far I've come and a promise to never stop growing. I have a timelapse of the process and more pictures and original PSD files. I couldn't upload them here because they are too heavy. Thanks for considering my submission
