Hi my name is Elias and im a student from france. With this painting i wanted to pay homage to my cat that is very old Right now(about to get 18 in 3month what a coincidence). We grew up together and i saw all the phase of her life, she got babys at the time that now became big too. I drew her as a giant queen cat under a sort of a big japanese shrine,( she always lay like this on her seat next to me when i draw ), and a bit differently ; with big ears like the fox of xp pen, but not to much you know she's a cat. I also like drawing girls so i drew a girl like a samurai with a large katana . i wanted to install an ambiance of tension between the two with the pose of the character and the look of the cat but also, melancholic or nostalgic moment that i lived with her with the rain and light. However if you pay attention, the character and the queen of cats are wearing the same type of ornament. Can we conclued that they are partner ? ;). the other cat can represant the baby that she got but also her own different form threw times just like the cat in the foreground on the last step of the stairs that's quit similar. As artist we work hard by learning all sort of thing that are important for drawing painting etc... but for me one of the most important thing in art is express emotion threw painting. I saw a lot of paintings where the technique was not that great but ,because of the idea or the emotion that are in, they can be amazing So we have to keep working on this !! 😉
