[30s animation] "The Little Prince and the Lamplighter's Legacy"💡 One of the planets that impacted me the most in "The Little Prince" was the lamplighter's. For the artwork theme "The Little Prince's Journey from Planet to Planet," I envisioned a re-creation of this planet, imagining the Little Prince returning with the fox or Fenix (XP-PEN's mascot). This artwork captures the scene through the fox's mind as the Little Prince recounts his encounter on the fifth planet. I perceive the lamplighter as a blue-collar worker, tirelessly running like a hamster on a wheel, bound by his Orders. Unlike the other planets, his mission serves others, even if it appears absurd for someone living alone on a small planet. The Little Prince’s unexpected visit gives meaning to his seemingly monotonous task and helps us see the beauty in his selfless dedication. To reflect this, I aimed to create an aesthetically pleasing piece using NPR flat 3D style, incorporating elements like bulb, marble, stars, and simple, cute characters. This design also highlights the tragedy of the lamplighter’s inability to rest due to the planet's increasing rotation speed. I hope this artwork can help us remember and appreciate the beauty in small, regular acts of service, regardless of one's work.
