My entry for the Journey of Miracles contest by XPPen! (Reuploded to fix something ^^) For explanation, there was nothing more special to me than when, as a kid, it was Christmas Eve, it’s midnight because you just got home from Mass, your tree is on, and the sky is reflecting off the snow. You and your siblings stay up for a while, eating and chatting, and it’s finally time to go to bed. You can’t get to sleep because of how excited you are, and you look out the window and see a red light in the sky, thinking it might be Rudolph! You finally go to sleep only to wake up at 6 in the morning, rush downstairs with your sister who you excitedly awoke, still dark, and there are presents under the tree with the warm Christmas lights on. You and your sister stay and watch for a while, then retreat to your room to either go back to sleep or play video games together, awaiting the rest of the family to wake up. So I’m trying to capture the two things I thought was magical about Christmas when I was a kid- supposedly seeing Santa riding in the sky, as well as the snow.
