This piece portrays the cycle of renewal associated with the arrival of spring. It was my intention to illustrate Persephone the goddess of spring from greek mythology, however this works to a degree of accuracy as Persephone being the goddess of spring is the living embodiment of the season, as she is youthful seemingly refrencing the coming of spring as plants blossom, now how this piece links to the illusion of spring and the constant cycle in which all living things are within, this is shown in the piece as the person within the droplet represents the negative aspects of the season which is either mental or physical eg bad weather(rain) , allergies, mud & insects whereas the goddess Persephone represents the good aspects of the season eg flowers, glistening waters & beauty. Overall, this piece is supposed to portray spring as the embodiment of the goddess of the season thus portraying the renewal and illusion of the season.
