XP PEN MAGIC NOTE PAD MINI?
Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here. I bought the XP-PEN Magic Note Pad eight months ago, and honestly, I think it’s a great product. I’ve written plenty of notes and created many illustrations with it. It’s really convenient having the included stylus always at hand without worrying about charging it, thanks to its battery-free technology. However, I’ve realized that I mostly use it at home; when I go out, I prefer taking my iPad Mini and Apple Pencil with me. That’s a good alternative, but I do miss the XP-PEN MNP on those occasions—the tablet's size is the main obstacle preventing me from carrying it wherever I go. It would be amazing if a "mini" version of that tablet—or an XP-PEN Magic Drawing Pad "mini"—existed. I know I’m just dreaming, but I decided to write this post to see if such an idea is even part of XP-PEN's plans, or if any other users have ever thought the same thing. hanks for reading—cheers!

My Head Construction Method
My method starts with a simple base to establish the three-dimensional volume of the head. From there, I build the structure and use guide lines to understand the proportions of the face.I then use the same construction to practice the head from the front, profile, and three-quarter views. Once the proportions and perspective feel right, I refine the shape of the face and add the facial features, such as the eyes, nose, and mouth, when I can clearly determine their placement. This method helps me understand the head as a three-dimensional form and gives me a solid foundation for developing the face.

#XPPenTutorialPractice What I have Learned from Drawing Heads
One of the first things I practiced when I was learning to draw was heads. Not only are they the most distinctive part of the human body, but they’re also the easiest to practice (depending on your skill level and the technique used).Over the years I've seen different methods for drawing heads, and they all have their advantages, but there are a few things I've learned that can be applied to any method :D1. The ears are slightly tilted: One of the easiest ways to remember where the chin begins or ends is by using the ears as a reference. Since the ear typically follows the angle of the jawline, it will be slightly tilted; although this can vary from person to person.2. The eyes are one eye-width apart: Although this will vary greatly depending on the drawing style (and therefore the type of eye drawn), generally the eyes are one eye-width apart.3. The neck isn’t straight: If you look at the cervical spine in human anatomy, you’ll see an S-shape. If you draw a straight neck, the character will look stiff, like a robot.3.1. The head has a brain inside it: It may sound obvious, but I’ve seen many drawings by novices (myself included) where, when drawing their character’s hair, they seem to forget that there’s a brain inside that sticks out.

#XPPenTutorialPractice: Drawing Heads
When I draw faces (or pretty much anything), I always think in terms of a 3D object. Think about the face of your character, and rotate them in your mind. There's a lot of depth there right? You can see how their hair falls across their forehead or on the nape of their neck. It gives them volume!I try to implement this mental version of my character into my work, and try to remember that their eyes, nose, and mouth aren't exactly flat against their face, they have shape! Remembering this can help you add more of a (for lack of a better work) tactile feel to your art. You can feel your character instead of just seeing them!Remember to FEEL and not just SEE!#XPPenTutorialPractice
