One Year Later with the XP-Pen Artist Pro 19 (Gen 2) 4K

I've been using the XP-Pen Artist Pro 19 (Gen 2) 4K for over a year now, and I think the biggest compliment I can give it is that it's one of the first things I pack whenever I'm heading back home.

This was also my first display tablet .

Before this,

I used a screenless graphics tablet for years. I got used to staring at my monitor while my hand was doing its own thing somewhere else on the desk. It worked, but switching to a display tablet felt kind of unreal at first. I still remember opening Clip Studio Paint and drawing directly on the screen for the first time. My brain genuinely needed a minute to process what was happening lol. I genuinely felt like I had to relearn drawing.

One of my favourite things about it is definitely the 4K display. Colors look great, details are crisp, zoom-in is slick and everything just feels nicer to work on. It's one of those things you get used to really fast, and gentle on my failing eyes😭

Another thing I got unexpectedly attached to is the ACK05 shortcut remote!

Undo, zoom, brush size adjustments, switching between tools -all on a remote, speeds up my workflow a whole lot faster. It's all about muscle memory now.

The pen case is another feature I genuinely appreciate. Getting two pens made me feel squeamish fr. Atleast I got a backup if I ever break one lol. A thick one with a SCROLL WHEEL, and a thinner one that feels just like holding a pencil. I switch between both according to my vibe.

One thing I don't see people talk about enough is how useful the tablet is as a second monitor. When I'm drawing, I usually have references, Discord, Spotify, or other tabs open on my main screen while the artwork stays on the tablet. It ended up becoming part of my entire setup instead of being ‘just’ a drawing tablet.

As for connectivity, I love that there are multiple options available, but I personally use the single USB-C cable. It's simple, clean, and spares me from any ‘tanglesome’ headaches. One cable and I'm good to go.

After more than a year of use, the tablet still feels fast and responsive. At this point, the new gadget excitement should have worn off ages ago. Instead, it's become one of those things that quietly does its job every day without giving me any problems, which honestly might be the best compliment you can give a piece of tech.

Looking back, transitioning from a screenless tablet to the xPPen’s Artist Pro 19 (Gen 2) was easily one of the biggest dream come true for me. Not because it magically improved my art overnight, but because it made the entire process feel smoother, more comfortable, and way more enjoyable.

It's become such a normal part of my routine that I forget how big the upgrade was until my fam points out how awesome this stuff is.

A year later, I'm still using it every day, still packing it wherever I can take it (def not travel friendly but I like to suffer), and still happy with it.

And honestly? That's probably the most genuine review I can give.
