Same features, different spacing

The first drawing:

The space between the eyes is the size of the eyes

Small space between the edge of the brow and the temple

The space between the nose and the top lip and the space between the lower lip and chin, are adequate

The second drawing:

The space between the eyes is too big

The space between the edge of the brow and the temple is too big

The space between the nose and the upper lip is too big

The space between the lower lip and the chin is too small

When a portrait feels off, don’t immediately redraw the feature check the space around it first. Comparing these shapes can reveal proportion mistakes much faster
