I've been thinking a lot about the themes of Christmas and the magic mirror, and I've been thinking about what makes every Christmas happy for me: reuniting with my siblings. So I thought about the story of Epi and Ele, two girls forced to distance themselves because the first (the one with white hair) has to stay and work with the Befana (a witch of Italian folklore who delivers sweets after the Christmas holidays) while the second has been hired as a Santa elf. The only day of the year they can meet is the very night before Christmas and they do so through a magic mirror that connects their two worlds, just as my old and battered xp-pen artist 15.6 allows me to send my drawings to my brother and sister and shorten the distance between us 💚.
