"Depths of the Forgotten City" Deep beneath the surface, where light fades and silence takes over, an explorer drifts through the ruins of a lost civilization. Wearing a vintage diving suit, the rider cruises through the ocean depths on a whale shark, stumbling upon an ancient sunken city, its columns covered in coral, swallowed by the sea. Creative Process : The project started with a moodboard on PureRef pulling references from ArtStation and Pinterest, then some sketches to figure out the composition. I blocked out the scene in Blender to get the layout right, then worked on the lighting with caustic effects to recreate how light refracts through water. The rider was built piece by piece, whale shark, saddle and character, before adding the environment: temple, rocks and corals. A volumetric fog was added for atmosphere, and everything was wrapped up in compositing. I'm joining this contest because I'd love to win a pen display tablet. I really want to get into digital sculpting and drawing to level up my 3D projects in Blender, and a screen tablet would be a game changer for that.
