CORE & SHELLS — XPPen × TOP TOY Contest My concept combines retro engineering with weaving skills. I imagined Zero as a young engineer who lacks the financial resources to fund his projects, so he collects discarded objects and materials to build automatons and covers them with fabric that he weaves himself. He makes many of his creations at his grandmother's house. Null was his first project. After a period of trial and error, Zero improved his techniques and applied what he had learned to Fenix. However, by the time he finished Fenix, he had run out of fabric to cover his feet. I found out about the contest late, so I had less time than I would have liked to work on this project.
