Very impressive technique, mood and layout. The warrior of winter encounters the radiant, ethereal figure of spring, who melts the snow with a ray of light and flowers.It reflects the real struggle between winter and spring during the early months of spring. In places where the sun is shining, you can already feel spring in the air, but the moment you step into the shade, you are reminded of winter's presence. The idea is creative and very well executed. I'm really drawn into the scene and would love to know more about the characters. Wow.

The style immediately caught my eye, it feels so unique like stepping into a dream, really fits the illusion idea. To me, the ruins and the gnarled trees symbolise something ancient that still possesses great strength. With resilience, they endure the changing seasons, welcoming spring. The fairies remind me a little of frost, but above all they radiate light and a gentle sense of hope.

One of the most creative ideas and skillfully rendered on top. An astronaut on a dead cold planet discovers an alien flower that creates an illusion of spring, which mysteriously appears inside his helmet. It makes you curious: Is the plant showing him what was, what is possible, or are the other plants already there but invisible to him?

Wonderful use of brushwork, composition and colors, interesting character designs. I would love to sit with them between the flowers and get to know more about them! It would make a great video- or board game illustration!

Cool stylisation! The illustration isn't complex, but it's particularly charming. The perspective is creatively chosen: the fairies emerge from the darkness and step into the light, full of energy and youthfulness. I'd love to fly with them.

A spring concert, what a cute idea! The little critters celebrate spring with music and the sun's rays shine down on the water lily leaf like a concert spotlight. I like the idea of capturing not just the pastel colours but also the sounds connected to spring.

Art Challenge

Spring is a season of renewal, where gentleness and lightness come alive around us. Last year, XPPen surveyed its fans to find out which color symbolized spring for them. We sincerely thank you for your enthusiastic participation. Nine shades stood out: lavender blue, pastel blue, sky blue, turquoise, natural green, apple green, candy pink, soft pastel coral pink, and soft yellow. Today, we invite you to create a gentle illusion inspired by this spring palette. Choose three colors from the nine provided and let them guide your artwork. Whether you choose to draw characters, animals, fantasy creatures, or a landscape, the key is to capture the spirit of spring through your own vision. You are free to use any technique you like: digital painting, traditional drawing, photo manipulation, 3D, mixed media, or any other artistic approach. Your creation can take any form: illustration, animation, comic strip… The format is entirely up to you. Go ahead and let the magic of spring inspire your creativity!
